I’ve been a bit quiet on here lately. I went home to Wales for a while, to celebrate my Nan’s 80th birthday and see my wonderful family, and when I came back to Italy, we seemed to land right in the middle of the (hopefully) last wave of kitten births of the year. Coming to the end of summer means lots more needy kittens suddenly popping up.

So, in that vein, I give to you Leoncina and Bush.

They have been both incredibly unlucky and lucky all at the same time. These two beautiful but tiny kittens were found alone and so cold that they could barely move, by a wonderful couple who simply couldn’t ignore their tiny cries. They scooped them up, without even thinking twice, and rushed them to the emergency vet here in Pescara. They spent 3 days under a heat lamp as Leoncina especially had difficulty maintaining her body temperature. They had clearly been alone for quite some time.

It’s still (very) early days – all the kitten rescuers out there will no that nothing is ever certain – but fingers crossed for these two!
